ICYMI: Three Important Webinar Recordings ─ CARES Act Dollars, Advancing Racial Equity: An Introduction, and Sign/Veto Requests ─ Are Now Available Online

The webinar recordings are now online for busy city officials to catch up on important topics like the CARES Act, an Introduction to Racial Equity, and the Sign/Veto Requests. 
 
CARES Act Dollars - Guidance by CA Dept. of Finance on Reporting and Web Portal
Held Friday, Aug. 28, this webinar covered information related to the California State Budget for FY 2020-21, authorizing the Department of Finance to allocate $500 million to cities to address the public health and public safety impacts of COVID-19. Recipient cities are required to submit their reports to the Department of Finance no later than 11:59 P.M. on Sept. 4. Attendees were provided a walkthrough of the state’s reporting requirements, new web portal, and participated in a question and answer session.

Advancing Racial Equity: An Introduction
Held Thursday, Aug. 27, an introduction for League members and other stakeholders was part of the first steps that the League is taking to advance racial equity. As city leaders are working to dismantle the barriers to equity and justice in California’s cities, the League is providing the education and capacity-building resources to support you. National League of Cities Race Equity and Leadership (REAL) Director Leon Andrews, helped set the stage for the work ahead to expand our knowledge and capacity to eliminate racial disparities, heal racial divisions and build more equitable communities.
