This came a few days after the state’s announcement about
updated guidance for private gatherings. The updated guidelines will allow for up to three households to congregate in an outdoor setting. Participants need to maintain social distancing practices and wear masks. This guidance provides an updated plan for Californians to gather outside their household and replaces the prior gatherings guidance issued on
Sept. 12 and
March 16.
The remaining allocations of the CARES Act funding are set for distribution today, Oct. 14. Cities can access updated resources related to CARES Act funding reporting, frequently asked questions, and a user guide from the Department of Finance (DOF) on its
webpage for COVID-19 Information. The League continues to support and work with cities to complete or edit their reports.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced $147 million in the fourth round of funding for Homekey, California’s $600 million program to purchase and rehabilitate housing for people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. This round of funding awards 12 applicants for 20 projects totaling 1,109 units. Cities selected in the fourth round of funding include Los Angeles with six projects, Sacramento with one project, and Salinas with one proejct.
