City Attorney Webinar: Developing a Successful City Attorney and City Manager Relationship

July 22, 2020
Join the Attorney Development and Succession Committee in an interactive minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) webinar, July 29 from 3:30-5 p.m., looking at the City Attorney-City Manager relationship.
Using real-life scenarios and instant polling technology, explore the different lenses through which city attorneys and city managers may look at city issues and how to foster good communications with the city manager.
The webinar will also cover:
  • When the city attorney has an opinion not directly on a legal issue
  • How to handle confidences from council members and staff without undermining the city attorney’s relationship with the city manager
  • When the city attorney’s advice is ignored, among others
Attendees are advised to view the webinar with a computer or laptop for easier access to see, hear, and participate with the Zoom platform. If you do chose to use your phone, please make sure to use the Zoom app, as opposed to only dialing in.
The League of California Cities is a State Bar of California MCLE approved provider. The League certified that this webinar meets the standards for participatory MCLE credit for registered attendees in the amount of 1.5 hours.

Registration is $50 for League member cities. Non-member cities, non-partners and all others will be charged $150.
Register online by 5 p.m. on July 28.
For questions about how to register for the webinar, please contact Megan Dunn. For all other questions, please contact Janet Leonard.
