Planning Commissioners Academy     March 4-6                    Sacramento
For planning commissioners of all career levels, this academy offers participants the opportunity to learn about the major planning and land use issues facing California cities. Concurrent sessions will be offered, featuring fundamental basics and nuts and bolts sessions, as well as emerging issues and innovative ideas for more seasoned professionals.

Public Works Officers Institute            March 18-20                 Monterey
The League of California Cities and the County Engineers Association of California are gearing up for three days of education and networking at their joint Public Works Officers Institute & Expo. California public works directors and professionals will convene for the three-day event, March 18-20 at the Monterey Conference Center. Sessions will feature the latest information on pavement management and preservation, municipal finance, and lessons learned from communities affected by fire and floods.

Fire Chiefs Leadership Seminar          Dec. 9-11                      Monterey
This two-day seminar is geared towards fire chiefs, chief officers, union leadership, and other fire services leaders. Sessions should focus on leadership challenges, succession planning, labor relations, emergency response, late breaking changes in EMS, and more. Read the instructions and submit a session proposal by April 30.
Municipal Finance Institute                  Dec. 9-11                      Monterey
The objective of this conference is to educate finance directors and other municipal finance professionals about new products and services to better serve their city. Review the instructions and submit a session proposal by June 30.
