Climate Resiliency Projects Grants Available to Public Agencies

December 9, 2019
The California Resilience Challenge (CRC), an initiative of the Bay Area Council Foundation, recently launched a request for proposals (RFP) to offer $2 million in funding for local governments to support innovative projects that address climate change-related threats and help safeguard the state against wildfire, drought, flood and extreme heat events.
Recipients, including cities, counties, and special districts, will receive grant awards of up to $200,000 for climate adaptation planning projects. The sources of this grant fund include businesses, utilities, nongovernmental organizations and foundations.

CRC is looking for projects that support climate resilience planning projects, with a preference for projects that will lead to implementation of resiliency infrastructure. The RFP is available online.
The deadline to submit an RFP is Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. and grants are anticipated to be awarded in April 2020.
If you have questions about the RFP or what projects are eligible, please email Adrian Covert.
