Applications to Serve as the League’s 2019-20 Second Vice President due Aug. 28

August 19, 2019
Serving on the League of California Cities board of directors is an outstanding opportunity to be a leader shaping state policy and the organization’s strategic direction.
The League is currently accepting applications from city officials interested in serving on the League board as second vice president (one-year term). Applicants must be current or former League board members and applications from northern California are encouraged.
Applications are due by close of business on Wednesday, Aug. 28
The position for second vice president re-opened earlier this month, when incoming president Randon Lane announced he was resigning his position at the end of the month to pursue new career opportunities. The League’s Board executive committee appointed Yountville Mayor and current Second Vice President John F. Dunbar to fill the remainder of Lane’s term and El Centro Council Member Cheryl Viegas-Walker was appointed to fill the remainder of Dunbar’s second vice president term. The board will vote to ratify these appointments and elect the 2019-20 board officers at the League’s board meeting in Long Beach in October during the annual conference.
