Bay Area Leaders Urge Support for Prop. 1 to Fund Affordable Housing

October 18, 2018
Prop. 1 supporters held a press conference in Oakland on Oct. 18 to urge support for this $4 billion housing bond that would help build affordable housing for California’s most vulnerable residents.

IMG_0840.jpegLeague Executive Director Carolyn Coleman joined Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, Sen. Nancy Skinner, Assembly Member David Chiu and veterans and housing advocates for the Oct. 18 event.

“With just 19 days to go until Election Day, I urge Bay Area residents and voters all across the state to vote “Yes” on Prop. 1 and support this important step in addressing California’s severe housing needs,” said Coleman as part of the event.

With an estimated one-in-three Californians unable to afford their rent and housing costs, California is in the midst of a crushing housing crisis. Prop. 1 will help build affordable homes for veterans, working families, people with disabilities and others struggling to find a safe place to call home.
