99.99 Percent of Cities Submit SB 1 Project Lists to CTC

Cities that Submitted Project Lists will Receive SB 1 Funds this Year

February 1, 2018
More than 99 percent of California’s 482 cities successfully submitted their SB 1 project lists to the California Transportation Commission (CTC).
This action establishes eligibility to receive SB 1 funds for FY 2017–18.
The annual submission of city and county project lists to the CTC is one of the oversight requirements in the new transportation funding law. With the passage of SB 1 (Beall), new transportation funding begins to flow to cities in February 2018. In FY 2018–19, approximately $600 million dollars annually will go directly to cities for road maintenance and rehabilitation projects to help improve street and road conditions.
Upcoming SB 1 Deadlines for FY 2018–19
May 1 will likely be CTC’s project lists deadline for FY 2018–19. Oct. 1 will likely be the deadline for FY 2017–18 expenditure reports. CTC is expected to announce these dates in February. The League will continue to monitor and inform cities of any important announcements.
Share How Your City is Using SB 1 Funds
Cities are encouraged to promote the start and completion of each transportation project, especially those funded by SB 1 by issuing press releases, op-eds, and social media posts.
The League has developed a media toolkit for cities to announce their SB 1 funded projects and ensure that their residents are informed about how their local government will be investing in their local infrastructure, along with the latest information on transportation funding.
