May 1 Deadline Approaching to Submit SB 1 Project Lists to CTC for Upcoming Fiscal Year

April 19, 2018
Annually cities and counties must adopt, via resolution, a list of projects they intend to fund through SB 1 in order to be eligible for funding in the upcoming fiscal year.

Cities and counties can no longer adopt project lists through their budgets. Project lists can only be adopted by passing a resolution.

Cities must upload adopted project lists to the CTC via the
new online tool. May 1 is the deadline to submit project lists for the upcoming fiscal year that begins on July 1.

CTC released a companion SB 1
Program Intake Tool Guide to help explain the uploading process. The League, the California State Association of Counties, and the CTC hosted a joint webinar walking through the project list upload process. A recording of this webinar can be found here. For more information and the CTC’s program submission guidelines, please visit the CTC website.

If you have specific questions regarding SB 1 project list submission, please contact
Alicia Sequeira Smith at (916) 651-6143 or Laura Pennebaker at (916) 653-7121.

Resources Available in SB 1 Toolkit

The
SB 1 toolkit includes documents that can be tailored to each city and a number of other resources. In addition to a sample resolution, the toolkit has a sample press release and social media posts cities can use to promote their SB 1-funded transportation projects, a sample op-ed, an FAQ and more.

If you are interested in additional information regarding SB 1, please visit the League’s
Transportation Funding page.
