League’s Annual Conference Registration is Open, Beware of Hotel Scammers

Early Bird Registration Closes July 9

June 6, 2014
Look forward to a wide range of topics to provide new ideas and opportunities to bring back to your communities. The benefits of face-to-face networking with your colleagues will be invaluable. We look forward to seeing you in Los Angeles this year!

When booking hotel accommodations, please note the League has not contracted with any third-party housing service or bureau for the 2014 Annual Conference and Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. All hotel room reservations for Conference attendees and exhibitors should be made directly with the host hotels and only by using the League’s special reservation online link to reserve the hotel room. After you register for the conference, the League will send you the link and please use only that link for reserving your hotel room.
Beware of unauthorized housing and hotel reservation services (two examples are Global Travel Partners and Exhibitor Housing Services) that may solicit your business. They may say the League’s hotel block is sold out or use some other ploy to book you into a hotel for a room that may not exist. All legitimate communications regarding housing will come directly from the League of California Cities. Using unauthorized reservation services may create real problems for you and the conference as a whole. You cannot be assured that your credit card information is secure and your room reservation may not actually be made if you use an unauthorized service.
If you receive a suspicious email or phone call asking to book your hotel room for the conference, please let us know immediately so that we can contact the organization and demand that they cease and desist. As always, the League is available to answer your questions on any aspect of the Annual Conference. We do our very best to ensure your participation is both enjoyable and highly productive.
Please contact Lorraine Okabe with any questions.
