HCD Housing-Related Parks Grant Funding Opportunities

December 18, 2014
The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has released a Notice of Funding Availability for nearly $35 million in Housing-Related Parks (HRP) program funding for the 2014 Designated Program Year (DPY).
The final deadline to file applications for funding is Feb. 5, 2015.
The purpose of the funding program is to reward local governments that approve housing for lower-income households and are in compliance with state housing element law with grant funds to create or rehabilitate parks. The program awards funds on a per-bedroom basis for each residential unit affordable to very low- and low-income households permitted during the designated program year. The program provides funds for parks and recreation projects that benefit the community and add to the quality of life.

Please refer to the revised HRP Program Guidelines for additional information on eligibility and documentation requirements.
HCD invites program applicants to contact the following Program Representative with questions.
Fidel Herrera, Northern California/Bay Area Region
James Johnson, Sacramento/Central Valley/Central Coast/Eastern Sierra/Central Coast/Eastern Sierra Region
Hilda Sousa, Southern California Region
Jennifer Seeger, Program Manager
