Bills in Committee Aug. 19–23

August 16, 2013
The Legislature will pass a significant session milestone today — the legislative policy committee deadline.
Absent any special urgency rule waivers, vote only sessions or conference committees, today's deadline marked the last day legislative policy committees could meet to hear and consider bills for passage for the remainder of the year. Hundreds of remaining bills are now set to be heard and voted on by legislative fiscal committees before the fast approaching Aug. 30 fiscal committee deadline. Once that deadline passes, the Legislature will hold floor sessions until Sept. 13 when it will adjourn for interim recess.
