New ILG Resource Addresses Public Engagement and Realignment

June 15, 2012

The Institute for Local Government (ILG) has developed resources on the topics of public safety realignment and the reentry of the formerly incarcerated back into the community.

An important part of the success of local realignment efforts is an informed, engaged and supportive public. ILG’s new resource, “Eleven Tips on Public Engagement on Realignment Issues,” offers ideas on effectively involving residents and other stakeholders in the shaping of local public safety realignment plans. This resource is available as a free download.

ILG’s Realignment and Reentry web pages also include informational resources from a range of organizations on realignment and reentry-related issues, as well as examples of realignment and reentry-related innovation and collaboration from throughout California. ILG’s Realignment and Reentry resources were made possible with financial support from The Rosenberg Foundation.
