Senate Announces Committee Chairs for 2013-14 Legislative Session

Last week, a little more than two weeks after the Legislature announced new leadership positions for the 2013-14 legislative session, the Senate announced the chairs for its committees, with Sen. Kevin de León (D – Pacoima) as the new Appropriations Committee chair.

 

The following leadership positions have been set for the 2013-14 session (*new member):

  • Agriculture: Sen. Cathleen Galgiani (D-Tracy*)
  • Appropriations: Sen. Kevin de León (D-Pacoima)
  • Banking and Financial Institutions: Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo*)
  • Budget and Fiscal Review: Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco)
  • Budget Subcommittee #1 - Education: Sen. Marty Block (D-San Diego*)
  • Budget Subcommittee #2 - Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation: Sen. Jim Beall (D-San Jose*)
  • Budget Subcommittee #3 - Health & Human Services: Sen. Bill Monning (D-Carmel*)
  • Budget Subcommittee #4 - State Administration and General Government: Sen. Richard Roth (D-Riverside*)
  • Budget Subcommittee #5 - Corrections, Public Safety and the Judiciary: Sen. Loni Hancock (D-Berkeley)
  • Business, Professions and Economic Development: Sen. Curren D. Price, Jr. (D-Los Angeles)
  • Education: Sen. Carol Liu (D-Pasadena)
  • Elections and Constitutional Amendments: Sen. Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana)
  • Energy, Utilities and Communications: Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima)
