The League of California Cities is a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation whose members comprise 474 of the 482 California Cities. As such, the League is a “publicly funded nonprofit organization” for purposes of Government Code section 84222.5. This statute imposes several additional requirements on organizations like the League, including posting our FPPC ballot measure campaign filings on the League’s website with a link on our homepage to the page containing the filings. These filings can be found below and this page will be updated as the League makes additional campaign filings.
Section 84222.5 requires the League to register and file as a recipient committee although the League does not accept contributions for political purposes. The League’s filings are consistent with FPPC Advice Letter I-18-101, which can also be found below. If you have any questions regarding this page or the League’s filings, please contact Norman Coppinger, Director of Administrative Services, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
