Welcome Planning Commissioners Academy Speakers!

The League of California Cities would like to thank you for your participation as a presenter at our upcoming 2023 Planning Commissioners Academy being held March 29-31 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County Hotel.

Included below are your key presenter deadlines as well as the Cal Cities Speaker Agreement form. Please read through and complete the required fields in order to acknowledge your acceptance of the League of California Cities’ presenter guidelines. Providing your digital signature on this agreement allows Cal Cities to move forward with the planning and promotion of your session, as well as the publishing of your name and affiliation (note: your contact information is strictly confidential) on our website and in marketing materials.

Complete the Speaker Agreement form and note any specific audiovisual requests. This form must be submitted no later than Monday, Dec. 19 to guarantee inclusion in the printed program - see form below.

To ensure each speaker is comfortable with their responsibilities during the presentation, please hold at least one conference call with all of the panelists in your session.

Submit presentation materials.

Conference Registration Deadline. On the day of their presentation, panelists are provided a complimentary one-day registration (not including meals or special events). Complete your speaker registration by Dec. 19 by filling out the Speaker Agreement form. If you would like to register for additional conference days or activities, please contact Megan Dunn by the conference registration deadline.

Audiovisual Requirements

All meeting rooms will be equipped with the following audiovisual equipment:

  • Standing lectern and head table for panelists
  • A Laptop (PC with PowerPoint)
  • An LCD projector and screen (screen size is 16:9)
  • A podium microphone
  • Head Table microphone(s)

Session Presentations and Materials

Presentations and materials will be distributed electronically and made available online. Your presentation should represent valuable and balanced information related to various aspects of the session topic area. Presentations should not be used as a vehicle to promote a specific commercial application or solution. All session materials must be submitted to Cal Cities Staff via the presentation submission form by Monday, March 20 and should be submitted in either a Microsoft-friendly format such as PowerPoint (.ppt), or as a .pdf file. All materials will be posted as PDFs and may be offered in a variety of formats: Cal Cities website, social media outlets, or shared in e-mail discussion groups.


Speaker Travel Policy

The League of California Cities is a not-for-profit association, and to keep registration costs as low as possible, is unable to provide any reimbursement of expenses, travel, or other compensations. The success of our program depends on the efforts of practicing professionals, like you, who are willing to volunteer their time to professional education.


Although Cal Cities is taking steps to promote the health and safety of conference attendees amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, Cal Cities cannot guarantee that attendees will not be exposed to or infected by COVID-19. By checking this box and attending this conference, you agree that: (1) you understand and appreciate the contagious nature of COVID-19, (2) you are voluntarily assuming the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness and/or death, and (3) you hereby release Cal Cities from any and all liability for exposure or harm due to COVID-19.

Speaker Acknowledgement and Agreement

My signature below warrants that all of the materials provided for the program do not violate any copyright or other proprietary rights of others; that the materials are my own original work; that I assign to the League of California Cities a nonexclusive copyright of the material for purposes of reproducing, distributing and/or selling the materials in any format to any audience.

I hereby acknowledge that the League of California Cities may photograph, video or audio record my presentation. I understand that any photograph, film or recording of my presentation will only be captured onsite by the League of California Cities. (NOTE: Cal Cities does not permit audio/video capture of any type by session participants, attendees or outside organizations without the advanced and expressed written permission of the Cal Cities Education Department.)
