Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) will celebrate his pending ascension as the 47th Senate President pro Tempore at an inauguration ceremony in Los Angeles. He will officially assume the leadership role on Thursday. Elected to the position on June 15, he replaces Sen. Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) who has held the post since Dec. 1, 2008.Senate Webinar: AB 60 Implementation: What Law Enforcement, City Officials Should KnowJoin representatives from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 2–3:30 p.m. for a webinar intended for law enforcement, local elected officials and interested city staff on the implementation of AB 60 (2013, Alejo). The law requires DMV to issue driver licenses to undocumented persons beginning Jan. 1, 2015.
