Get Started Early on League Resolutions

Deadline is July 5

Policy development is an integral part of the League’s Annual Conference. While the principal means for determining League policy is through the League’s eight standing policy committees and the League board of directors, the organization also accepts Annual Conference Resolutions, which should address areas not already covered by League policy.

Webinar Scheduled for May 28 on U.S. Supreme Court Decision on Prayer in Local Government Meetings

The State and Local Legal Center, International Municipal Lawyers Association and the National Conference of State Legislatures are co-sponsoring a free webinar to discuss the recent Supreme Court decision in Town of Greece, New York v. Galloway clarifying allowable prayer practices before local government bodies and state legislatures.

California City Solutions: Alameda Partners With Volunteer Organization to Save Animal Shelter

This story is part of an ongoing series featuring Helen Putnam Award entries. These entries are also now available on the League’s website as a resource for cities in a searchable database called California City Solutions. Alameda’s Friends of the Animal Shelter program was submitted in 2013 for the League Partners Award for Excellence in City-Business Relations award category.
