League Past President Jim Madaffer Appointed to California Transportation Commission

Brings Expertise in Local Streets and Roads to State Commission

Gov. Jerry Brown today announced the appointment of Jim Madaffer to the California Transportation Commission, an independent public agency responsible for the programming and allocation of funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail and transit improvements throughout California. Jim, a former two-term San Diego City Council member, served as League of California Cities president from 2007–2008. He now becomes one of nine commissioners appointed by the Governor who serve as one of 11 voting members of the commission.
