League Supports Federal Marketplace Fairness Act and Amendment into Senate Budget Resolution

City Officials Urged to Send Support Letters Immediately

This week, the League issued a support letter for S. 336/H.R. 684, the Marketplace Fairness Act, which would require out-of-state merchants to collect use taxes for electronic and mail sales.

House Committee on Ways and Means Discusses Municipal Bonds Tax Exemption

 
The House Committee on Ways and Means held a hearing on Tuesday to discuss tax reform and tax provisions affecting state and local governments, during which the tax exemption for Municipal Bonds was reviewed.

FY 2013–14 HUTA Gas Tax Estimates Now Available for Cities and Counties


The Local Government Finance Almanac has posted FY 2013-14 city and county HUTA gas tax estimates. This data is now available together with an update on California's complicated fuel taxation and allocation system.
