Keynote Speakers to See During Mayors and Council Members Executive Forum

June 22-23 in Monterey

May 12, 2016
The 2016 Mayors & Council Members Executive Forum is coming up next month and the May 24 registration deadline is fast approaching.

This premier event for mayors and council members will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey on June 22-23 and will offer two general sessions with highly regarded keynote speakers.

Sacramento Bee Journalist Dan Walters will kick off the conference on June 22 as he discusses California politics, and the angst and uneasiness that accompany an election year. Walters has been a journalist for more than half a century, spending all but a few of those years working for California newspapers. He has written more than 8,500 columns about California and its politics, as well as authored two books. His column appears in more than 50 newspapers.

Navy and Air Force Winged Aviator and Officer Dave Moore will be speaking on June 23 about leading with personal power while creating a civil atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to speak up and be part of the team. Using real-life experiences from his time in the Navy, Coast Guard, and the Air Force as a winged aviator and officer, Moore will shine a light on the over looked human factor, emotional intelligence, understanding people and predicting how they will react in situations. He will also demonstrate examples of how to polish communication skills. To be a great leader, you must be an outstanding communicator.
