Public Works Department’s James L. Martin Award Nominations due March 1

The League of California Cities® Public Works Officers Department is now accepting nominations for the 2016 James L. Martin award, named in honor of Jim Martin who dedicated his career towards advancing the public works profession and supporting the efforts of the League.
 
The James L. Martin Award is an opportunity to recognize an individual’s outstanding career service, leadership, expertise and innovation in the public works field. In addition to recognizing the outstanding contributions made by its recipient, the James L. Martin Award fosters continued professional development by providing the recipient an opportunity to attend a future Public Works Officers Institute.
 
The James L. Martin Award will be presented at the 2016 Public Works Officers Institute on March 9-11 in Sacramento. For more information about the conference, or to register, visit the League’s website.
 
In order to be eligible, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
  • The candidate must be a full-time employee of a California city, or have retired from municipal employment within the past year.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the public works profession and the League of California Cities on a statewide basis.
  • The candidate must have made continuous and valuable contributions to the public works profession, deserving of the James L. Martin Award. 
Nominations must be received no later than noon on March 1 for consideration.
