Late Breaking Sessions Added to League Annual Conference Schedule

Early Bird Registration Ends Aug. 10

August 5, 2016
Two new sessions have just been added to the lineup for the League of California Cities® Annual Conference & Expo, Oct. 5 – 7 in Long Beach: Lower Your OPEB Liability through the League Health Benefits Marketplace and Massage Establishments — Challenges and Solutions.

Lower Your OPEB Liability through the League Health Benefits Marketplace

Cities are struggling to cope with growing OPEB unfunded liabilities due to high health insurance costs for their retirees. At this session learn how you can increase choices for your employees and retirees and possibly lower your OPEB costs and liabilities through the League’s new Health Benefits Marketplace.

Massage Establishments — Challenges and Solutions

Hear how cities and the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) can work together to protect the public and stop the hijacking of the legitimate therapeutic profession of massage by criminal enterprises. Focus will be on best practices engaged by cities respecting both legitimate businesses without being overly burdensome and allow for quick action against illicit massage establishments. Topics include local Revocable Registrations for massage establishments and information sharing with and from CAMTC.

The full schedule and announcement with session information have additional information about the conference.

Early bird registration closes Aug. 10 with a $50 discount.
