Water Board Approves New Guidelines for Drinking Water

May 20, 2015
Yesterday, the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) approved new guidelines for $19 million in funding to help public agencies, community water systems, nonprofit organizations and tribal governments to assist those communities with emergency drinking water needs.

SWRCB will distribute these new funds as quickly as possible by coordinating with the appropriate State agencies and stakeholders to identify those communities in greatest need.

The funding is part of the $1 billion emergency drought packaged approved by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown on March 27.
