Board of Equalization Approves Lower Gas Excise Tax Rate

The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) on Tuesday, Feb. 25 unanimously approved lowering the state’s gas excise tax rate by 3.5 cents per gallon.

CPUC Announces Public Workshops to Discuss New Broadband Access in Public Housing Comments

The California Public Utilities Commission announced workshop dates to discuss public comments received relating to the implementation of AB 1299. Signed by Gov. Jerry Brown in October 2013, AB 1299 brings broadband Internet access to affordable multifamily housing by diverting $20 million from the California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Infrastructure Account and $5 million from the CASF Loan Account into a newly created Broadband Public Housing Account (BPHA).
