The historic bill by Assembly Members Mike Gatto and Raul Bocanegra, both of Los Angeles, directly impacts California cities by encouraging more film and television production throughout the state.
AB 1839 puts in place policies that strengthen the economy. The Southern California Association of Governments study on the California Film and Television Tax Credit program found that for each tax credit dollar, total economic activity grows by $19.12; labor income increases by $7.15 and another $1.11 is returned to state and local governments.
