State Set to Make Mandate Payments

October 17, 2014
The State Controller’s Office announced that it will begin making payments on the $100 million in pre-2004 mandate reimbursements included in the FY 2014-15 Budget Act.
Detailed agency-by-agency information is on the Controller’s website.

The Controller will delay some payments where local agencies have accounts receivables with the state. Payments for these local agencies will be offset by underpayments identified via audit and likely will not arrive until November or December.
The FY 2014-15 Budget Act did however include the suspension of 60 mandates that will not be part of this repayment. For more on this list, please see: ”DOF Releases FY 2014-15 Suspended Mandates” in CA Cities Advocate, July 25, 2014.
