New League Best Practices Database Houses Hundreds of Model Innovative City Programs

March 7, 2014
The League of California Cities announces a new best practices database for cities seeking ideas on how to provide local services.

This new resource, California City Solutions, comprises a searchable catalogue of previous applications for the League’s prestigious Helen Putnam Awards. These best practices currently span 2010 through 2013. Applications from 2014 will be included in this database once the Helen Putnam winners are announced in September at the Annual Conference.

Each week CA Cities Advocate will also feature a story highlighting one of the applications. The first story will launch on Friday, March 14.

Helen Putnam Awards

The Helen Putnam Award for Excellence is an annual honor that recognizes the outstanding efforts and innovative solutions that improve the quality of life in local communities, implement efficiencies in service delivery and operations and provide services responsive to the local community. The programs highlighted in the Helen Putnam Award applications can serve as inspiration and be replicated in other cities as they look to meet the unique challenges of their local communities

This year applications for Helen Putnam are due by April 10. Applications must be submitted online at www.HelenPutnam.org. Please contact Melissa Lienau with questions.
