NLC to Host Thousands of City Leaders During 2014 Congressional City Conference

The National League of Cities (NLC) will hold its annual Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C. from March 8–12 this year. During the conference, participants from across the nation will engage and meet with U.S. House of Representatives and Senate members to discuss federal policy issues of paramount importance to cities and local governments.
 
This year, the conference will cover a range of topic areas, including:
  • Federal budget proposal;
  • Economic and job creation tools;
  • Comprehensive tax code reform and municipal investments;
  • Public safety and cyber-security;
  • Education;
  • Job training programs;
  • Immigration; and
  • Regulatory reform and streamlining.
League of California Cities President José Cisneros will be attending the conference along with League Executive Director Chris McKenzie and several members of the League board of directors. In addition, all five California members of the NLC board of directors will be in attendance.
