League to Offer Webinar on Workforce Wellness

March 11, 2014
On Thursday, March 20, the League of California Cities’ League Partner program will offer a free webinar outlining the various resources available to cities to help build and grow employee wellness programs.

Scheduled from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., the webinar will be the first in a yearlong series of online educational sessions available to League member cities on the subject of workforce wellness.

Webinars in the series will be held throughout 2014 from March through November. Future webinars will cover such topics including: program participation and incentives; safety and environmental health; policy and environment; and labor and union engagement.

For the second year, the League in conjunction with its partners, Kaiser Permanente, the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Cities Campaign and Keenan & Associates, is offering the Cities for Workforce Health initiative to support member cities in improving employee wellness. In 2013, a total of 67 cities participated in portions of the program, and five cities were awarded grants towards wellness programming through Kaiser Permanente HealthWorks. The League is looking to expand participation in 2014 by reducing participation requirements and making educational content more widely accessible.

For more information about the program please visit the Cities for Workforce Health webpage.
