League Second Vice President Kathy Miller Elected to County Office; Applications Being Accepted for Office of First Vice President for 2014-15

June 16, 2014
Katherine Miller, League second vice president and Stockton City Council member, just learned that she has won the two-candidate race for county supervisor for the Second District of San Joaquin County. As a result, there will be no November election.

The League congratulates Council Member Miller on her victory, and wishes her all the best in her new role. She has informed the League she will not seek election as the League’s first vice president, but will finish out her term as second vice president in September at the Annual Conference.

The League Bylaws and Board Policy specify that in this instance the office of first vice president shall be filled by any current or former member of the board from Northern California. It will be the job of the 2014 Board Nominating Committee to interview all candidates and nominate one individual for consideration by the board of directors as the next first vice president.

The first vice president application is available online. Applications and supporting documentation (bio/resume) from all eligible applicants must be submitted by Monday, June 30, 2014 by 11:59 p.m. to Mimi Sharpe or via FAX to Mimi Sharpe at (916) 658-8240.

Applicants with questions are invited to contact League Executive Director Chris McKenzie at (916) 658-8200.
