Cities Encouraged to Take Action on 2014 Annual Conference Resolution

July 18, 2014
As part of the League’s Annual Conference & Expo members will consider one resolution that was submitted regarding illegal marijuana grow sites.

Specifically, the resolution calls upon Gov. Jerry Brown and the Legislature to convene a summit addressing the environmental and public safety impacts illegal marijuana grow sites have on local communities. The resolution is scheduled to be heard by the Environmental Quality and Public Safety policy committees prior to the General Resolutions Committee and General Assembly.

The League strongly encourages each member city council to consider the resolution and determine its position. Each city council should designate a voting delegate and two alternates to represent their city during the resolution vote at the Closing Luncheon/General Assembly. To designate your voting delegate, please fill out this form and return it to the League by Aug. 15.

In addition to availability online, a hard copy of the resolution packet was mailed earlier this week. Please direct any questions regarding the resolution process to Meg Desmond at (916) 658-8224.
