The Health Policy Research Division of CalPERS Will be Holding Focus Groups to Solicit Feedback on the CalPERS Health Benefits Program

Focus Groups Scheduled for Glendale, Walnut Creek and Sacramento

February 28, 2014
As part of the Public Agency Flexibility effort, CalPERS will be holding health benefits focus groups for employers over the next months.

The sessions will be an opportunity to learn more about employers’ experiences and views on the CalPERS Health Benefits Program. CalPERS is soliciting employers’ feedback on what it can do to better serve your agency’s health benefits needs and will use this information to evaluate how its current health benefit design and legislative requirements align with employer needs. If necessary, they will then develop alternatives for the CalPERS Board of Administration to consider.

Following the Pension and Health Benefits Committee meeting last week CalPERS will also use this opportunity to gather employer feedback regarding potentially realigning its regions to better reflect variations in health care costs for contracting agencies.

There are currently three health benefits focus groups scheduled:
  • March 7: Glendale Regional Office
  • March 26: Walnut Creek Regional Office
  • April 22: Sacramento Regional Office
To participate in one of these events or for further information, please contact Karen Perkins, manager, CalPERS Market Evaluation and Decision Support.
