Watch Governor Brown’s Inauguration and State of the State Addresses Online

December 18, 2014
Gov. Jerry Brown announced in early December that he would take his oath of office on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 and combine his inauguration with the annual state of the state address. Legislators will also be returning to the Capitol that day to begin legislative business for the 2015-16 session after being sworn in on Monday, Dec. 1.

During his remarks, it is expected that the Governor will provide insight into his FY 2015-16 state budget proposal, which is slated for release later that week. Following the release of the Governor’s budget plan, lawmakers will begin crafting FY 2015-16 legislation in preparation for the constitutional deadline of June 15.

The proceedings will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Assembly Chamber of the Capitol and marks the official start of the Governor’s historic fourth term leading the state of California.
