The League of California Cities Past Presidents Council today announced the selection of former Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill as the recipient of the 2013 Past Presidents’ Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented to Ms. O’Neill on Sept. 18 during the League’s opening General Session of the 2013 Annual Conference and Expo.

Lawmakers finished the first half of the 2013–14 legislative session and adjourned early Friday morning after passing some highly contentious measures to the Gov. Jerry Brown. Overall, of the nearly 2,500 measures introduced this year, 1,090 measures reached the Governor — half of which were sent just this week.
