Cities Encouraged to Send Letters for Bills on Governor’s Desk

Updated List of League Signature and Veto Requests

The League has released the list of bills on which it is seeking the Governor’s signature or veto. City officials and interested stakeholders are strongly encouraged to submit sign/veto request letters.
Below is a list of measures pending on the Governor’s desk the League has taken a position. Developments will be updated in the coming weeks to reflect the Governor’s actions. While Gov. Brown has until Oct. 13 to act on all legislation before him, it is important to get letters in early as his decisions can be made at any time. Sample letters are available to facilitate this process.
Status Update
The Legislature adjourned last week and won’t be return until Jan. 6, 2014. In the meantime Gov. Jerry Brown will be wading through the some 600 measures currently pending before with his sign or veto pen. Below is a breakdown on how many bills have been signed or vetoed this year:
