Legislative Briefings Scheduled for Nov. 4 and 6

Register Now for Either In-Person or Webinar

The League is holding its annual end of the year Legislative Briefing in-person on Nov. 4 in Redding and Nov. 6 via webinar. During this year’s Legislative Briefing, League lobbyists will discuss new laws adopted in the 2013 legislative year with an emphasis on those most relevant to cities.
League lobbyists will also share their perspective on forthcoming issues for 2014, which may include:
  • Increases in transportation funding;
  • Lowering local voter thresholds;
  • Water bond issues;
  • Medical marijuana regulations;
  • New labor and human resource policies;
  • Post-RDA infrastructure and development tools.
Attendees at the event in Redding will receive a hard copy of the 2013 Legislative Briefing Report and webinar participants will receive an electronic copy presentation day. The report is divided into issue areas with summaries provided for each bill signed by Gov. Jerry Brown.

Nov. 6, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
The registration cost for League members and Partners is $25 for either the in-person or webinar briefing. For non-members, the cost is $325 for the in-person briefing and $125 for the webinar.
