Assembly Committee Hearings
 
The Assembly Select Committee on Justice Reinvestment will hold a hearing Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the San Francisco State Building, Civic Center Complex, Milton Marks Auditorium. Hearing subject: Local Programming Practices.     
 
The Assembly Transportation Committee will hold an informational hearing Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Long Beach City Council Chambers. Hearing subject: Are California Communities Ready to Provide Workplace and Public Charging to Help Meet California’s ZEV Goals?
 
The Assembly Water, Park and Wildlife Committee with hold an informational hearing Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Shasta County Board of Supervisors, Room 263 in Redding. The subject of the hearing is to discuss local perspectives and the need for a 2014 Water Bond.
 
The Local Government Committee will hold an informational hearing Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the State Capitol, Room 444 on the subject of State-Mandates. The hearing will be streamed via live webcast on http://www.calchannel.com/live-webcast/.
 
The Assembly Water, Park and Wildlife Committee with hold an informational hearing Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the City of Seaside Council Chambers. The subject of the hearing is to discuss local perspectives and the need for a 2014 Water Bond.
 
Senate Committee Hearings
 
The Senate Select Committee on Climate Change and AB 32 Implementation will hold an informational hearing Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the UCLA School of Law, Room 1347. Hearing subject: California Climate Progress Update: Building Resilient Communities, Cutting Pollution, and Creating Jobs.
 
The Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee will hold an information hearing Friday, Dec. 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.at Kaiser Permanent Woodland Hills, Auditoriums A, B and C. Hearing subject: The Los Angeles River and its San Fernando Valley Watershed: Progress and Opportunities.
 
California Air Resources Board (CARB)

Zero Emission Bus (ZBus) Wokshop
 
CARB will hold a public workshop Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 10:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in Oakland to discuss concepts that are being considered and take input from stakeholders on what additional amendments should be considered to the Zero Emission Bus (ZBus) regulation and to explore the status of, and future developments to, ZBus technology and related systems. Diesel & LSI Compliance/Retrofit Training
 
CARB is offering the following free training courses to help diesel and large spark-ignition (LSI) vehicles owners, operators, fleet managers, brokers, dealers, and maintenance personnel understand new requirements and technologies for complying with California’s diesel vehicle regulations:

Public Hearing on Proposed GHG Regulations

CARB will hold a public hearing Thursday, Dec. 12 at 9:00 a.m. to consider proposed greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations for medium- and heavy-duty engines and vehicles, optional reduced emission standards for heavy-duty engines, and amendments to the tractor-trailer GHG regulation, diesel-fueled commercial motor vehicle idling rule, and the heavy-duty hybrid-electric vehicles certification procedures. Basic Sales and Use Tax Seminar

BOE will hold a Basic Sales and Use Tax Seminar Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Francisco District Office Room 440. For more information and/or to RSVP, please see event website.
 
California Transportation Commission
 
The commission will hold a number of meetings to discuss, consider and vote on pertinent topics and issues. The meeting schedule is as follows:

Local Assistance Loan and Grant Committee Meeting
 
HCD will hold a meeting of the Local Assistance Loan and Grant Committee on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 9:00 a.m. in Sacramento with a teleconference in Culver City. California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA)
