City Land Water Conservation Fund Grants Available

The California Department of Parks and Recreation is offering Land Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grants to cities for acquisition, development and maintenance of outdoor park and recreation facilities.
 
Cities may request up to $2,000,000 or 50 percent of total project cost per application. Eligible priority projects include trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, natural areas and cultural areas for recreational use. Once property is acquired or developed under the program it must be maintained in perpetuity for public outdoor recreation use. The deadline to submit grant applications is Feb. 3, 2014.
