League Membership Approves Bylaws Change in Vote Threshold for Taking Positions on Statewide Ballot Measures

May 31, 2013
The League board of directors at its April meeting certified the results of the mail ballot approving a bylaws amendment to require a two-thirds vote of those directors present in order for the board to take a position on a statewide ballot measure.

Ninety-two percent of those cities submitting ballots voted in favor of the amendment.

The board at that same meeting also certified the membership’s vote to require cities submitting resolutions to the League General Assembly for consideration to provide written documentation of concurrence by at least five or more cities or by city officials from at least five or more cities.
