ILG’s Sustainable Communities Learning Network Opens Registration for Brownbag Webinar

March 29, 2013
Registration is open for the fourth in a series of 30-minute webinars offered by the Institute for Local Government’s (ILG) Sustainable Communities Learning Network.

Scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 11–11:30 a.m., the webinar will focus on Renewable Energy and Low-Carbon Fuels, and Green Building. Xavier C. Perkins, deputy director for Simi Valley Department of Community Services is the featured speaker.

Learn about the city of Simi Valley’s newly renovated LEED-Gold certified transit maintenance facility building that incorporates recycled and regionally produced materials plus an energy-efficient design that has resulted in a 25 percent energy savings. The renovation process allowed the city to expand and upgrade. As a result, the city is now able to offer a neighboring agency and a private company access to less expensive, clean-burning compressed natural gas through cooperative agreements, a potential revenue source for the city.

Register online for this free webinar.

ILG also plans to hold upcoming webinars on June 4 on energy efficiency and conservation and July 16 on green building.
