City Officials Invited to Participate in Emergency Management Assistance Compact Webinar

Mark your calendars for a free webinar on the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).
 
Ratified by all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands, EMAC is the nation’s state-to-state mutual aid system. The webinar will be held July 11 from 10–11 a.m. Joyce Finn, the EMAC executive taskforce chair and readiness/response bureau chief in the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division will be the main presenter.
 
EMAC Overview for City and County Officials will address a range of topics including:
  • What is EMAC;
  • What local officials need to know;
  • The importance of their relationship their state EMA;
  • How resources are adjudicated;
  • How states are a potential resource to other states in a disaster.

The webinar is a presentation of the National Emergency Management Association in cooperation with the National League of Cities and the International City/County Management Association.
