Local Communities to Receive $2 Million in Art Funding

July 18, 2013
The California Arts Council recently announced that it is receiving an additional $2 million in funding as a result of surplus savings from the 2013 State Assembly operating budget.

The news release announcing the funds stated that the council will distribute the money during the FY 2013–14 to local communities seeking to “support [the] arts and arts education programs … enhance local creative economies, fund effective arts learning programs, and support the growth of the state’s creative workforce.”

Information regarding how cities and local officials may procure funding is yet to be determined. The League will issue updated information through CA Cities Advocate when it becomes available.
