Bills in Committee July 1–5

July 1, 2013
It’s going to be another busy week in the Legislature as Assembly members prepare for their customary month-long summer recess scheduled to begin Wednesday.

The Senate, however, isn’t expected to adjourn until sometime next week with several hearings currently scheduled on its calendar. According to League Capitol insiders, the scheduling differences between the Senate and Assembly demonstrate the dispute between the houses. Tensions have escalated in past couple weeks following an internal struggle about two-thirds vote requirement bills among other issues.

A full listing of all upcoming Senate and Assembly hearings is available online.  Please note that hearing times and locations are subject to change. The League will report any significant actions.

Bill language and available position letters can be found on the League’s website by typing the bill number into the search box.

Many of these hearings will be televised live on the California Channel.
