Local Agency Stakeholders Host Jan. 23 CalEnviroScreen Meeting with CalEPA

The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) developed an environmental health screening tool, CalEnviroScreen. CalEPA officials will meet with local agency officials on Jan. 23 to discuss the impacts of this tool on local governments.

This meeting was organized by the League of California Cities, the California Association of Counties, the Regional Council of Rural Counties, the California Contract Cities Association and the California Chapter of the American Planning Association.

Second Draft and Public Comment

City officials are encouraged to review CalEPA’s guidance memo, as well as the second draft of CalEnviroScreen. The public comment period closes Jan. 25, however CalEPA has indicated they may extend the comment period to Feb. 1.
