Development Impact Fee and Public Improvement Financing Program

February 1, 2013

To accelerate desired development projects and the public improvements needed to support them, developers may finance impact fees and public improvement costs associated with their projects using tax-exempt bonds.

The California Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA), the League’s financing program, through the Statewide Community Infrastructure Program (SCIP), is offering the opportunity for developers to finance impact fees for roads, water, sewer, storm drains, parks, and other public improvements.

CSCDA has just issued the SCIP newsletter that outlines recent successful projects and announces the schedule for future applications.  SCIP is an excellent economic development tool that may be used for commercial, industrial, retail, multi-family and single family residential projects.  Read the SCIP newsletter for more information and contacts.
