HCD Housing-Related Parks Grant Funding Opportunities

December 12, 2013
The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released information this week regarding local government eligibility and documentation requirements for the 2013 funding round of the Housing-Related Parks (HRP) program. The final deadline to file applications for funding is Jan. 22, 2014.

HCD announced and released earlier this year a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the 2013 funding round of the HRP program. The purpose of the funding program is to reward local governments that approve housing for lower-income households and are in compliance with state housing element law with grant funds to create or rehabilitate parks. A total of $25 million is available for the 2013 funding round. The program awards funds on a per-bedroom basis for each residential unit affordable to very low- and low-income households permitted during the designated program year. The program provides funds for parks and recreation projects that benefit the community and add to the quality of life.
