Bills in Committee Aug. 26–30

August 26, 2013
This Friday, Aug. 30, marks the legislative fiscal committee deadline. In the meantime Legislators will be scrambling to ensure their legislation makes the cutoff or wait until the second half of the biennial session begins in January.

Following the fiscal deadline, the Legislature will have four working days, because Labor Day will be observed Sept. 2, to amend remaining legislation on the floor by the Friday, Sept. 6 deadline. The Legislature is customarily expected to introduce several high profile eleventh hour gut-and-amend bills in hopes of pushing them quickly through the process before the Sept. 6 deadline.

Several League Hot Bills are still in play as we enter the final stretch of the legislative session. Stay tuned for updates and League action alerts to be informed about all the latest Capitol happenings.
