California Civic Engagement Project Release First in series of Policy Briefs

September 14, 2012

The UC Davis Center for Regional Change California Civic Engagement Project has released the first in a series of policy briefs.

The brief outlines voting registration disparity for Asian and Latino populations.

Although Latinos and Asians make up half of California's population, they register to vote in far smaller percentages, according to the report. The voter registration gap means that these ethnic groups have proportionately less say in the electoral process compared to the general population.
