State Controller Addresses City Officials During League’s Municipal Finance Institute This Week in San Jose

On Wednesday, the League’s two-day Municipal Finance Institute kicked off with a crowded general luncheon presentation by state Controller John Chiang.

 

This annual event is designed for finance officers, city treasurers, city managers and city staff that manage public finances for their cities.

General and breakout session topics included:

  • Redevelopment;
  • Budget and legislative update;
  • Sales and uses tax collection;
  • Property taxes;
  • Financing economic development;
  • Municipal auditing; and
  • Local tax measures.
